Once again, I find myself needing to pay tribute to another friend who has passed on to glory. Bruce was a friendly, compassionate, caring individual who loved God, his family, his country, and the Green Bay Packers! I don't say that to make light of his passing, I say that out of respect and love.
In February of this year, Bruce was diagnosed with cancer of the esophagus. It was in other parts of his body as well. Sadly, Bruce had felt no symptoms until too late. By the time the diagnosis was confirmed, he was beyond help.
I'm sure he was shocked and devastated by the report but he kept it under wraps. He continued to uplift those around him and profess his love for his savior, Jesus Christ. He knew his salvation was secure but he wanted others to have that assurance to the end. He was concerned for the future of his family and we all will do our part to help them through this time.
I enjoyed our friendly little Sunday morning quarterbacking of the upcoming football games. He was an avid Packer fan but would at least root for the Bears when they played the Vikings. He was a big guy with a big heart but a calm voice. He made his mark on mankind and will not be forgotten. Once again, we feel another piece of our heart has been removed.
Enter into your eternal home old buddy. It's probably decorated in green and gold. I'll bring you a Bear flag when I arrive!
